All World Kitty
All World Kitty is my pet project with a goal of sharing original music, words, and media to the world. It’s a state of mind, where anything is possible when writing and recording original music, as well as shooting a picture or sharing a thought.
My musical journey started in West Virginia. As a young child, I recall walking into the family basement where a sibling’s band equipment was setup and on display for a young hillbilly to admire. I was drawn to the drum kit, which stood like a ten-story building with a sparkle finish. I started playing snare drum in elementary school but wanted to experience playing a full kit. I eventually ended up with a small Whitehall drum set which laid the foundation for learning a groove. I learned my first chops playing to vinyl, grabbing whatever I could find in the family record bins.
My first real gig was in a church band, playing Eagles covers with musicians who were significantly older, but willing to give me a chance. I played in numerous cover bands, but always felt like a bigger calling was in my future. I sharpened my skills playing in multiple bands in my formative years but eventually it was time for a change.
Moving to California to continue the musical dream resulted in life experiences playing across the western states including Washington State and Utah, as well as throughout California. As the original drummer in The Believers, the journey including opening for recording acts such as Eddie and the Tide, The Tubes, and Y&T. The Believers placed one track in the Luke Perry movie “Terminal Bliss” and recorded multiple releases of original music before disbanding.
Songwriting took a greater focus for me, due to my desire to write, record, and release music as a solo artist. Technology advancements have provided artists the ability to produce and release music on their own terms and I was an early adopter of the Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) movement.
The All World Kitty catalog crosses multiple genres, from rock to punk, jazz to electronic. I take life stories and translate them into music and video. I feel it’s important for artists to push the boundaries and don’t get caught up in a trend. Be the trend.
Artists are welcome to cover All World Kitty songs, and collaborations are always welcome, let’s do work!
Enjoy the music, enjoy the ride.
